Vintage Jeep on Salute Our Troops tour

A fully refurbished 1952 Willys CJ-3 Jeep will be traveling through the region next week for the Salute Our Troops campaign.

Coordinated by Kangaroo Express convenience stores, the summerlong campaign has a goal of raising $1 million for national and state military support organizations.

Military heroes in the Chattanooga area — those who have served in the armed forces as well as those who have positively affected the lives of those who serve our country — will be recognized for their service.

Funds raised in Tennessee will directly benefit the USO, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of Tennessee.

On Monday, the Salute Our Troops tour will stop at two Kangaroo Express locations in Rome, Ga.: at 2401 Garden Lakes Blvd., from 8 to 10 a.m., and at 3070 Cedartown Highway, SW, from 4 to 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Jeep will be at two Chattanooga-area locations of Kangaroo Express: at 8935 Lee Highway, from 9 to 11 a.m., and at 9652 East Brainerd Road, from 4 to 6 p.m.
